China Railway Question Institute (CRQI)

Who we are:

CRQI is a student-founded community that designs and runs railway knowledge competitions and problem-based learning to grow STEM literacy, transport safety awareness, and global connectivity understanding among youth. Evidence: CRQI’s July 2024 competition paper and rules.

What we do (outputs):

Host timed, scored competitions (90 minutes, 120 points) with single-choice, multiple-choice, and open-response sections.
Use open-resource learning (books/web allowed) while requiring independent work (no discussion/copying).
Run an online study community (Group ID 726224967).

What students learn (sample topics drawn from your papers):

High-speed rail standards and Fuxing 350 km/h operations (why they matter for network efficiency & safety).
Rail safety & risk (e.g., catenary power-loss incident analysis).
Next-gen innovation (CR450 R&D; “faster, more efficient, safer” rolling stock).
International cooperation (e.g., Hungary–Serbia railway case as a Belt-and-Road example).

CRQI builds students’ technical and research skills through timed, standards-aligned assessments and problem-based tasks.

By studying China’s HSR standards and CR450 innovation, students understand how research and engineering drive safer, more efficient infrastructure.

SDG 11 — Sustainable Cities & Communities (target 11.2).

Rail is a backbone of sustainable mobility; CRQI helps youth evaluate service, safety, and network effects.

SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals (target 17.16).

Students examine real cross-border rail projects to understand how multi-country partnerships deliver shared benefits.
